If you are in favour of the Lytham Quays Development - beware false prophets bearing gifts! Are you sure that Kensington will in fact build anything other than houses? Look at Cypress Point - promise to build included shops - pub - school - link road. Where are they? The same place that the Lytham Quays ones will be, thats where.

I would like to register my opposition to the Lytham Quays development. It is clearly far from "Magic". Simply put, there is no justification for a development of that size.
It is not wanted and not needed. How did Kensington decide that Lytham needed to virtually double it's population in order to survive. It will not survive as the town we chose to live in if this development goes ahead.
It may be argued that earlier developments such as Hall Park may have significantly added to the population of Lytham, but they were supported by a the creation of hundreds of jobs through Guardian and British Aerospace. Where are the jobs for the 7,000 inhabitants of the Quays?
Additionally, the Council's own Adopted Local Plan states that developments should comprise of a variety of housing types. This is clearly not provided by this proposal.

My husband and I visited Lytham last weekend to meet friends who live in the town. What a great place! I'd never have contemplated living in a seaside town but was totally won over by the people, coast, shops, restaurants, everything! Don't let anything spoil what you have - it's priceless!

Just over 2 years ago my husband and I moved back to Lytham after living in the Midlands for a number of years. We chose to live in Lytham because of the beautiful preserved character, small town community feel and security it afforded.
Like most, I am outraged and horrified to see the proposed Lytham Quays development - it will destroy the features of the town that drew us back. It clearly confirms that money cannot but you taste Mr Hawes et al!!! I also am deeply offended by the councillors attitude of sitting on the fence - you are there to represent those who voted you in. I for one feel smug that I did not infact vote for the esteemed member for my ward.

Congratulations to Alison and all the team for a great effort so far. We need to strongly tell Kensington Developments that their over ambitious plans are not wanted. Let us preserve leafy Lytham for future generations.

It's about time we took Kensington and other developers in our area on. Enough is enough and the residents' voice must be heard this time. We want to retain our well known community spirit whilst preserving the capability for our entrepeneurs to succeed. We must all keep the pressure on!!

It is essential that everyone does everything they can to stop this plan from going ahead. We know too well how Fylde Council likes to accept anything out of character with the existing town if it is large and ugly enough and the potential to bring money into its coffers.

Leave Amsterdamian and Venetian design in the towns where they originate. Lytham is something special that we should be proud of. It should not allow itself to become dominated by cheaply built, ugly housing that is liable to flood.

Its a shame your councillors that are not on the Planning Committee (of which there are 3 out of 6 and some have sat on this committee in the past) are not concerned enough to help the campaign know what are genuine planning considerations and what are not.
