In the FAQ on the Fylde Council web site they list the follwoing valid grounds for objecting to a development.
“The following is a list of material planning considerations. They are not an exhaustive list and there may be others, which need to be considered during the processing of the application. When the officers present their report to the councils Development Control committee they will have due regard in their report to them.

· Highway matters
· Impact on the Special Site of Scientific Interest
· Contaminated Land
· Employment Considerations
· Tourism
· Impact on other Town Centres
· Design
· Amenity considerations including impact on Lytham
· Retail Impact
· Loss or otherwise of Industrial land
· Education
· Health
· Residential numbers
· Affordable Housing
· Flood Risk
· Pollution Control
· Sustainability and impact on the local community
· Bio diversity and nature considerations”
If your letter does not contain what the council considers relevant considerations under existing planning law then it may be ignored
